You know, that place from those posters

That is where we are. Yangshou. You should google it because it will be a while before we post any pictures. Erica made it here safe and sound. After a day of sight seeing in busy Hong Kong we headed back to the mainland for a little quieter experience. We went for a whirlwind tour of Hong Kong central complete with a tram ride to the top of Victoria peak and the evening light show on the bay. We ate Indian food and stocked up on provisions before we set off again.

It is beautiful here. Really. There are large limestone karsts that jut out of the ground like giant fingers. Still very hot and humid, but I think that is going to stay the same the rest of our trip so I will quit griping about it. I could be in Texas :) Tomorrow we are going to rent bikes and ride around the country side. The food is great too. Now that Erica is here I imagine there will be more hanging out and enjoying the local flavor. it is so much more fun with company. It is pretty touristy here, which makes thinks very easy to get around. When we feel like it we are going to head on to Kunming. Cheers.

glad you guys are liking yangshou. there’s a place with **awesome** vegetable burgers, i think it’s called sally’s (or something of the sort) it’s on a funky road and the last one on the street.

Hey, could you ask Erica if she found somebody to take the cat? Because I don’t think Ryan is back yet.

Best dog I ever ate was in Kunming.

Seriously, you will love Yunnan. Very touristy (mostly from internal Chinese travellers) but it is absolutely gorgeous, from top to bottom. Most ethnically diverse of all of China.

If you want a good trek, go for a three day walk down Tiger Leaping Gorge.

Hey! Any time you want info on the other countries, drop me an email. Hope the info on India works out. If Erica is with you in India, I highly recommend that you stay at the same place I did in Goa. Was great to meet a fellow texan - ha ha ha - this from someone who had to explain that no in Texas, very few people have an English accent, and not being blonde didn’t mean I wasn’t American….sigh…Safe travels!!
