A Few Statistics

Fabien and I usually write our own blog entrys, but for this one I’m going to translate his calculations. Following are a few interesting statistics about our Indian adventure thus far.

Highest altititude: 3800 m/11,400 feet
Minimum temperature (In a tent at night= water bottle frozen) : -5 degrees C/damn cold
Maximum temperature (Delhi at the end of October and Jaisalmer mid-December) : 30 degrees C/86F
Number of beers consumed in India: 10 (not a lot)
Number of consecutive sunny days: 28 (still in course)
Number of rainy days : 0
Number of Indian family photos we appear in : around 30 (that we know of!)
Number of modes of transport taken : 15 (plane, bus, train, toy train, jeep, personal car, ferry, row boat, pedal boat, camel, cycle rickshaw, auto rickshaw, bicycle, our own two feet, subway and streetcar)
Number of nights we’ve slept outside of a hotel : 30 (bus : 4, train : 3, desert : 1, camping : 9, bungalow : 3, someone’s home : 10)
Number of photo’s we’ve taken : 2,100 to date (too many!)
Number of consecutive days we’ve gone without eating meat : 14
Number of hours we’ve spent writing on the blog : around 25 each
Number of hours we’ve spent on transport in India : 162
Number of kilometers/miles we’ve traveled in India : 6,000 km/3,750 miles
Average speed of transport in India : 37 km/h (23 mph) … it gives us time to admire the landscape 🙂
