Mundial de Baloncesto Femenino -Sao Paulo- Women´s Basketball World Cup

Wednesday, September 27th, 2006

ENG: In Sao Paulo by pure coincidence we managed to catch the Women´s Basketball World Cup, after reading about Spain beating Korea, so instead of heading for the coast, we decided to hang about in Sao Paulo and catch a few games in the Ibiripuera Arena. Quene being an ex pro, was in her element watching the games, and got to say hi to a few very surprised teammates she knew from her time in the Spanish league! Here´s Quene with Amaya Valdemoro, best female basketball player in Spain, and Pilar Delgado the teams physio. And us two cheering on the team!!!

Brasil - Floripa & Sao Paulo

September 13th, 2006

ENG: Well, last country on the tour :(
But what a place! Our first stop was in the city of Florianopolis in the southern Brasilian state of Santa Catarina. The island of Florianopolis, or Floripa to the locals has dozens of lovely beaches, so we decided to head out to one of them and spend a few days chilling, and well we did actually chill, as the temperature dropped just as we arrived, it was sunny during the day but mighty cold at night, around 7´C…Coldest it´s been here in 95 years, just our luck eh! It even snowed in São Jaoquim further inland, and that hit the news alright, who could imagine snow in Brasil???!!!
