Where is Cape York?

Sunday, January 25th, 2009

Cape York is in Far North Queensland (or Tropical Queensland) in Australia. It is one of the last true untouched areas in the world and at the tip of the peninsula is the northern most part of mainland Australia!!!

For a more detailed description of what it is and where check out the wiki entry for it!

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cape_York_Peninsula

The only way to get up to the very tip of the peninsula is by using a 4WD vehicle (or by taking a tour…but wheres the fun there!) so we’ll be hiring a Toyota Landcruiser (with engine snorkel) to get us there via some of the most demanding tracks available. Below is a youTube vid of someone elses trip there a few years back!

Here I go again!

Sunday, January 25th, 2009

Well those of you who know me won’t be surprised to here I’m off to Australia again in September; my 6th trip since 2002! :-) However this time I wont be doing the usual coast hugging road trip but will be travelling up to Cape York Peninsula in a Toyota Landcruiser and will be camping in the outback all the way up!

Keep checking back for how I’m progressing inĀ  the planning of it!
