Here in London…
it is a bit chilly but sunny. I have just checked out of the Piccadilly Backpacker’s Hostel and will be making my way to the train station shortly. After checking in yesterday I wandered around here in the Soho district and eventually ended up at the National Gallery and the National Protrait Gallery. Afterwards I stumbled across Leicester Square and ate my first meal at Yates’s. Interestingly almost every menu I’ve looked at so far has had several tasty sounding vegetarian options mixed into the menu. British +1 on that. I’m just slowly absorbing differences and similarities. Getting to Lymington tonight should help, the tourist areas of London are very cosmopolitan and foriegn-market oriented. I’ve seen a Subway, Burger King, McDonald’s, several american burger joints or steakhouses and dozen other US brands and shops here. One store boasted of fashions straight from L.A. while another announced it was serving smoothies and juices, an american health food bar. I do hope our great culinary contributions aren’t just from California and Texas.
