Traveling in Circles

Take barge to Van and drive up to 3 Pagoda Pass.

Cancelled waterfall as they charged 400 baht a person to get in and we’d have to leave shortly thereafter.

Went to elephant camp instead. 300 for the ride. 20baht for food during show. Lianne and I got one elephant, Alecia and Lee got another.

Tussled with a baby elephant. He kept wrapping his trunk around my arm and trying to crunch my bones. He rolled onto my feet like a cat and tried to chomp my leg as well. A few more tug of wars and headbuts later we went to the free show.

After the show it ws onto 3 Pagoda Pass. Got some pics, looked at some vendors wares and headed to the hotel. The P Guesthouse was western ranch style and had long steep steps. Curses!

Sunday

No running water. Go down to tell the clerk and they say in an hour it should be back on. Retire back to room with water working now. Sore throat, small fever and unhappy guts. I try to sleep it off. Get up around 5:30pm. Noticed am stuffed up a little. Wonder if the mildew smell and stains on lower wall might be partial cause of symptoms.

Feel better and so I drag out of bed and go to dinner at Soi Cowboy area. Eat at chinese place and had them charge us 30 bhat for sitting near the a/c.

Back to hotel, watch some movies and sleep.
