The Rest of Ireland (aka Dublin)
After checking into our hostel in Dublin, we ran into another traveller from our hostel and went and rambled (aimlessly of course) through the Temple Bar area. We found a restaurant and then decided to catch on to a local pub crawl. We went to a handful of bars, including a brewpub called the porterhouse, and Dublin’s smallest bar (which was quite crowded with our pubcrawl group.) During the crawl, Sarah turned 26 at midnight, so the drinks were flowing. So HAPPY BIRTHDAY SARAH!!!!!
The next day was mostly spent resting from the festivities the night before. We did get up and wander a bit in the afternoon, and found the coolest looking powerboat/spaceship ever. It was called the Earthrace, and was built specifically for setting the world record for a powerboat around the globe. It failed in its first attempt, but will be trying again next year. We got to talking to Pete, the captain and owner of the boat. Check it out at www.earthrace.net (I almost applied for a job on the boat)
