Travel Anxiety

I’m experiencing a mix of overwhelming excitement and anxiety about this trip that starts in 18 days. I’m going to be alone, all alone, 7000 miles and $1500 from anyone I know. Five months is a long time. So much can happen in five months. What if something bad happens back home? What if something bad happens in New Zealand? What if I can find no one to relate to? What if I get homesick? What if I get hurt? What if I get sexually harrassed the way I do here? What if I become best friends with people there or fall in love? What would I do then; I wouldn’t want to leave? But then also, I’m going to friggin NEW ZEALAND! I have no idea what to expect! I’m simultaneously clenching my jaw and grinning like a madman. So scared, so happy. What a test of patience.

Puerto Rico Visuals

Back in March, five of us went to San Juan, Puerto Rico during spring break because we could for $75 each way per person through Jet Blue. But if you try the same thing we did, be careful because when the airline starts selling tickets, the price begins to rise, so you’re friend may end up paying $50 more than you.
