Day 25 – Family
Another interesting prompt from Bootsnall and 30 Days of Indie Travel Project; day 25 is about family.
Family shapes who we are, but sometimes the family we create plays a bigger role in our lives than the one we were born into. Tell a story about how either of your “families” have impacted your life and your travels.
I only wish my parents and/or grandparents would have been more “active” when it comes to traveling but …unfortunately that’s not the case. However, I always managed to travel with my friends and later with my ex-husband. So my new family and the “extended family” aka friends opened up an array of possibilities.
Now I travel with my fiance. Mostly just the two of us, but looks like this December we’ll also travel with friends. Yiipiii!
Coming from a family in which only my grandmas traveled quite a lot in their youth, i’m glad to be bitten by the travel bug. One looses so much if traveling is not part of their life!
When I have kids I want to travel with them, even if they are little. There is so much they can learn from traveling, things you’ll never learn by staying home (even if you read, etc).
