Arad: Frozen in Time

It started to snow on Christmas Eve…by Christmas morning the snow was enough to look nice [see photo below]. Then it started to be freezing…way too cold for my nose. -6C/21F for the past 3 days is not exactly funny or nice. The scenery looks great but the cold is not something you might want to face.

I should be brave enough to go out and take some photos but I’m still reluctant to do so.

Crazy weather I tell ya

For several days the weather’s been really crazy here in Arad, Romania

Technically the city has a temperate climate, influenced a bit by the Mediterranean fronts which come from the SV…. that’s what we learned in school..

yet the weather is crazy…it rains in short bursts , like it would in the middle of summer - aka July and August - and then the sun is up again…

I know that springs are crazy anyway here but this year has been the craziest…

Romania: Transfagarasan Closed for Winter

After the recent snow fall in the Carpathians, the Transfagarasan National Road has been closed. It will reopen on Jun 30, 2008.
