Day 3 Bucharest: Zoo and Herastrau Park

Monday, July 30th, 2007

Day 3 Jul 29 Sunday
since it was Sunday, me and DH decided to cook for our friends. so we made our “signature” dishes both for lunch and dinner.
right after lunch we went to visit Bucharest Zoo, which, contrary to our expectations, surprised us. It was really nice. I loved some parrots ;)
After visiting the Zoo we went to Herastrau Park. Took some walk, ate some ice-cream, had fun:)
Really nice day.
We did take photos but i didn’t download them yet.

Day 1 and Day 2: ROM and HUN Vacation

Sunday, July 29th, 2007

Day 1:
we left around much later than planned (thanks to our friends) …with all the stops and stuff we arrived after 1 AM on Jul 28. Of course we didn’t even manage to sleep as on Day 2 we left for Sinaia.

Day 2: Sinaia, BBQ and hiking

We left Bucharest at abt 6 AM. The road was pretty busy but we got to Peles Castle (Sinaia) before it opened at 9 AM. we visited the premises (i visited the Castle back in 1995, nothing has changed ever since anyway). Then we left to visit “Cota 1400″..that means up the mountain (by car) to 1400 m. We hiked till 1500 m and took some nice photos.

After a while we decided to go BBQ-ing in a lovely camping spot near Busteni. We spend a lovely time there but we started to get chilli to we decided to hike to Urlatoarea Waterfall in Bucegi. “Theoretically” the climb takes 1/2 hr…but it’s very steep so it took us 1 hr up and almost the same down. We took some incredibly beautiful photos and then came back to Bucharest.

I’m sorry this is rather short but i’m not at my laptop (I’m at a friend’s of ours). Please check out photos on: http://www.flickr.com/photos/cs_dima/
