Safari Day 3 - Serengeti
We got up really early this morning - before daylight even. We had a light breakfast and headed out for an early morning game drive - a few hangovers from the night before, but it was all worth it once we got going and the sun came up.
The animals must really enjoy the cooler early morning hours (not to mention the animals inside the landrovers). The giraffes are really more colorful in the morning light.
Wildebeests and zebras stayed about the same color.
Here was a nice Impala buck chewing the shrubery.
Another stop back at the hippo pool (I don’t think they even moved since last night). An alligator moved in overnight, though.
More giraffes eating their dinner before finding some shade to sleep in all day, they are very curious animals.
These zebras were enjoying a much needed drink of water - the sun’s getting higher and it’s getting hot!
This is one of my favority shots - a family of baboons heading somewhere (not sure why they were leaving that very nice shade tree).
This watering hole had lots of action going on. There were hundreds of zebras and wildebeests around.
