Quest for Beer – Africa (Tanzania)

Met a few of the people in our group this morning. There are 28 of us! Drove about 45 minutes from Moshi up to Machame Gate (5,600′), checked in and started hiking around 11am. We hiked about 6 hours today to Machame Camp at around 10,000′. It rained on most of the day, but the temperature was warm so it wasn’t too bad. There are about 80 people in our total group including the porters, guides, and cooks. It’s quite the operation! The porters all run ahead with all our gear (except our day packs) and set up the tents, 2 big mess tents, and a cook tent.
