I’m Off….

Sunday, December 25th, 2005

…..well, sort of. I made it from Minneapolis to Detroit. Just sittin’ here waiting - my Amsterdam flight doesn’t leave for another 3 hours. I can’t believe it just cost $5.25 for 15 min. of internet access - what a ripoff! This may be the last update for a while. Unless I find internet access in Amsterdam, I lilely won’t be able to update until after the climb (we’ll have a day in Moshi before the safari starts). Thanks Al and Marge for the ride to the airport this morning! This has been a very strange way to spend x-mas day. Later.

Long Nights

Friday, December 23rd, 2005

Two more days (”time keeps draggin’ on”) !!! It’s 7:35pm on Friday, Dec. 23, 2005 at Kilimanjaro. They are 9 hours ahead of central standard time. So, for all of you partying on New Year’s Eve here in Minnesota, I will hopefully be standing at the top of Kilimanjaro when the corks fly and the champagne spills (cheers!). Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you all! Thanks for all the advice (and thanks Pat S. for the Hemingway book - that should keep me occupied sitting around the airports - it’s about time I read Snows of Kilimanjaro ). For all my co-workers, there are cool maps hanging in my office. Seeyabye.
