Views from above

Continuing with the flying thing: Ever bored on board? I am, frequently! So if I have a window seat and the landscape below looks interesting, I snap pictures. I have tons of pictures of odd cloud formations. Here are some pretty cool pics of Denmark and Norway from above on a gorgeous May day - clouds and landscape.

Stories of flying

Yesterday, a colleague related the story of her flight the day before. Her plane from Oslo had been hit by lightning. Seemed scary enough, but the pilot had quickly explained in a very calm voice that it was nothing to worry about. A bit later the plane landed safely in Bergen. My airline stories have actually been more funny than scary. 

In the 80s I frequently flew trans-Atlantic and I do remember experiencing a few stalls. Isn‘t that what it’s called when the plane drops a few hundred metres, leaving your stomach up there? This was during my university days and back then, I thought it was just exciting. Today, I Imagine I would have freaked out a little. Is it a normal effect of age, becoming more easily irrationally frightened?

Cambridge
