The Beauty of Mongolia

Yay for Mongolia!! Taken at a monastery with breathtaking views

My words and photos can not possibly communicate the beauty and magic of this place. I took so many pictures and they are all disappointing. Imagine the most beautiful wide open space you’ve ever seen. The biggest sky. The widest and deepest horizon.

Then multiply it by 3. That’s what Mongolia looks like.

There is an undeniable freedom and uniqueness to this place, but again, my words can not do it justice. I would love to return here someday. This brief visit was simply not enough.

Next stop: China.

Prayer wheels at the Monastery. Tibetan Buddhists believe spinning the prayer wheel is somewhat like a mantra and will gain them merit. These prayer wheels circle the monastery and it is the custom to walk around clockwise and spin each wheel.

I rode this camel but I really don’t think you need to see a picture of that:-)

A sad, sad attempt to capture the beauty of the Mongolian Steppe on the road to Kharkorum, the ancient capital of Mongolia under the empire of Ghengis Khan
