Categories

Category Order could not understand your category HTML. Please do the following:

Disable all plugins except for category order to see if some other plugin is causing the problem. If the problem goes away, re-enable each plugin until you find the incompatible one.
Try switching to a different theme, like the WordPress default theme.

Once you have tried the above steps, email david@coppit.org with the results of these debugging steps. Also include the following information:

‘Tis the season for fireworks!

While Halloween is tied as my second favorite holiday ever normally, I have to say, it pretty much just sucks here in the UK. Back home we do it right with decorations, costumes, candy, spooky music, and haunted houses. Here, I saw all of four kids trick-or-treating and not a single jack-o-lantern anywhere. It was rather disappointing, I must say. I was glad that we had gone to the effort to decorate our house for our Halloween/Becky’s birthday party, complete with carved pumpkins and cobwebs. Our night of fancy dress went a long way to get me in the Halloween spirit, even if it wasn’t on the actual night. I just can’t conceive why people don’t make more of an effort here over the holiday, even if it is mostly an American thing – it’s just plain fun.

Ahoy there, mateys!

British people love fancy dress…they just love it. If there’s a birthday or a sporting victory to celebrate, what better way than by dressing up as cops and robbers or doctors and nurses? When I came to study in the UK last year I had no idea what fancy dress was – I was thinking ball gowns and tuxes. Once I figured out it was actually a group of people dressing up for a night out, I was still a bit confused as to why this would be fun in any way. That was before now.
