It hasn't all been about the beer and Blazdell. Francesca brought a paper called "The Art of Living: The Classic Manual on Virtue, Happiness, and Effectiveness." It's not long but it took two trips to the bathroom for me to read it all this morning. Here is one passage to chew on: "He asks us to minimize the importance we would place on 'external' choices, what we might today call 'lifestyle choices,' and to concentrate on the small but significant inner moral choices we make in the course of any day." Lets make sure we're practicing Epictetus's philsophy at the Lucky Lab tonight. Don't you think it's our moral obligation to buy Blaz a beer? Sean might have that covered, but after our ability to put it away last night, you never know. Here was another interesting part of the paper: ""Inner confusion and evil itself spring from ambiguity"" Comments
My philosophy prof would be so proud! Posted by: Freesia on November 22, 2003 05:41 PMok, but what arrogance to say or believe that one understands the truth? ok, goodnight all....it's close to 3am and i'm too drunk to stay up...though when I arise you will all be at the hight of your party an i will be able to share a beer with you for my breakfast and for your good-night...I wish you all well, and happy partying!!! |
