K-9 Games, or How to Waste a Morning

Thanks (or no thanks) to my sister, I've wasted the better part of the morning figuring out what kind of dog I am. I've also started a chain reaction in my office, so I'm getting the occasional email that says, "I'm a Lhasa Apso!" How come there are so many of these games on the Internet? Are we all that distracted? I think it's just a defense against the big pile of work crap that just got dumped in our laps on this lovely summer Thursday.

Neverthless, I have learned a few things about myself this morning. Apparently I'm a loyal companion and eager to please.

My Results, in case you care to know...

  • Gone to the Dogs (This, by the way, looks like a hilarious movie. Gotta remember to look for this come fall.)
Welsh Springer Spaniel. "Developed around 1900 as a natural flushing spaniel but thought to have descended from red and white dogs of pre-Roman times when the Gauls entered Wales. The 13th century Laws of Wales mention a forerunner to the Welsh Springer Spaniel. A loyal and hardworking gun dog that is excellent at swimming and sniffing. Generally a jock of a dog, preferring the company of men with guns (!), but under certain circumstances will make a perfectly contented domestic animal."
  • I-Village Quiz
Cocker Spaniel. "The Cocker Spaniel feels the need to please. She tends to become overly submissive in her mission to make everyone happy but makes up for it with her sensitive nature. A brisk walk around the block is right up her alley, but she prefers to spend part of her time indoors. Her silky hair tends to become tangled, and regular grooming sessions are necessary to keep her looking her best. The accommodating Cocker Spaniel is truly a loving and trusted friend as well as an ideal companion."
  • E-Mode Quiz
Bernese Mountain Dog. "No bones about it, you're a good-hearted, people-loving Bernese Mountain Dog. Down-to-earth and loyal, no one works or plays harder than you do. You put your nose to the grindstone when it really counts, but you never neglect your social calendar. Simultaneously strong and sweet, you're very tuned-in to the feelings and needs of the other dogs you run with. Without having to be asked, you always have a helping paw to lend and a sympathetic shoulder to lean on. "Communication" is your middle name, and when that's paired with your unswerving devotion, you get a breed that everyone respects and trusts. Woof!"

Woof, indeed...
