August 10, 2005Snowboarding in the Andes!
The black figure is me at Los Penitenties Resort 4 hours west of Mendoza on the road to Santiago, Chile. The upper lifts were closed most of the week but on Sat. they opend them for the first time since is snowed (on Tuesday) when it dumped 1.3 meters of fresh dry powder. This was my first time snowboarding in fresh virgin snow..it was amazing! I went for 3 days and and stayed at a hostal at the base of the mountain. It was rather cheap for rental, hostal, and lift tickets, but only drawback is that the resort only has 4 good lifts. It was fun and i met up with some cool argentine kids...thay showed me the fat runs and we went out drinking at the local disco. Comments
