On the Move, Again

Tonight I'm taking what will hopefully be my last overnight bus ride in India, from Jaipur to Haridwar. It's about 12 hours, then from there I'll take a one-hour bus ride to Rishikesh, Yoga Capital of India, and supposedly all-around mellow place. It's right on the Ganges, and surrounded by hills on three sides. I'm hoping to find a really cozy, comfortable place to stay, with somewhere nearby to take yoga classes once or twice a day. I'll probably stay there until the 13th or 14th, then spend a few days in Delhi before my flight to Bangkok on the 17th. Unfortunately, I just found out it'll probably be pretty rainy there, but I guess I've been spoiled so far--have had only a few sprinkles since arriving in India!

I've been feeling pretty good the last day or two, and it's funny how when I feel good it seems like the bad stuff can't really be that bad. Yet I know my outlook can change here very, very quickly, so while I'm happy to be feeling more positive at the moment, I feel like I'm kind of walking on eggshells. Hope Rishikesh allows me to continue to feel good!

Hmm... we might be able to meet up after all. Vlad and I are in McLeod Ganj right now, and might go to Rishikesh if we can't find anything to do here. (We were hoping for a weeklong course, but today is the Tibetan New Year, and the town is half shut down. Besides, it's ridiculously cold.)

Also, while I know you have found your own little sources of escape and happiness, I'll share mine, in case you need another: German Bakeries. They seem to be everywhere in the touristy towns, and, maybe it's because I've been in lands of flat breads for the last several months, but there's just something comforting about baked goods...

You're right about the baked goods! I had beautiful brown-bread toast this morning, and it was fantastic! As was the pita bread yesterday, the cinnamon roll the day before... yum!
