The Itinerary

Subject to change, of course, but here's the current plan. It'll be interesting to see how this changes over time.

September 10: SFO to Lima
September 11: Lima to Cuzco
September 13-October 1: Spanish classes in Cuzco
October 6-11: hike the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu (with another BnA member, Jessie)
October: Lake Titicaca, Arequipa, south through Peru/Bolivia into Northern Chile, Northwestern Argentina
November: Santiago and south to Patagonia
December: back north through Argentina
December 8-19: Buenos Aires
December 19: Buenos Aires to Panama
December 20: New Jersey to spend Christmas with the family
January 4: NYC to Delhi
February 17: Delhi to Bangkok
March-May: overland through Thailand, Laos, Vietnam, and Cambodia
May 18: Bangkok to London
May-June: Africa? Currently pondering S. Africa, Tanzania, and Kenya
end of June: a week in London, if I have any money left
June 30: London to NYC
sometime in July: NYC to SFO

yeah, i also really wonder how much my itinerary will change over time. in a lot of ways, i really worry that i've tried to pack too many places into it.. but at the same time it's so hard to leave countries of the list!!

I hear you. And it's funny how places that initially led me to a region aren't even on the list anymore. I think it was Brazil that first got me interested in going to South America, yet Brazil's not on the list anymore! Who knows. Maybe I'll be in northern Argentina and just not be able to resist a peek across the border.
