PICTURES GALORE

So I finally took the time to upload many (but not nearly all! Yes, I am a photo maniac) of my pictures from Greece. Now that I've finished these, maybe one of these days I'll be pro-active enough to put some Spain and more Thailand pictures on here. But don't hold your breath.

So, to start out the little feast for your eyes, here is the epitome of Greece . . .

sant epidemy.JPG

ATHENS:

One day we went to the flea market:

Jackets for sale.

Shoe laces for sale.

Junk for sale.

At the Acropolis:

The swarms of people around the Parthenon.

Callie and I at the Parthenon.

Steph and I on the Acropolis with a view of Athens behind us.

Walking around the Plaka area.

I don't know if you all can see, but the skate shoes out there were insanely expensive! These were from 80 to 120 Euros!!! (Around 100 to 180 Dollars.) Ridiculoso.

CRETE:

Trying to get to the famed Balos Beach:

So we rent a car. Notice how it's on the OTHER side of the locked fence? And notice the open doors? . . . Who let us rent a car again??

Where are we going?

The road to Balos beach. Not good when you're driving a mini mini.

Why we were scared.

Stopping for a break.

Our new friend.

Should we go to this secret beach instead?

Katherine, Steph and I in the water at the serect beach. Later known as "The Beach of Death"

. . . But it was beautiful while we were in the water.

What happens when you try to climb up out of The Beach of Death.

This is a PERFECT place for a table and chairs.

More goats in the road.

Mountains on the ride to Plakias. Hard to imagine an island with 4,000 ft. mountains!

Beautiful bay with Greek flag and boats.

"Look, there's Africa!"

The secret "One Rock" beach.

The view from our hostel in Plakias.

Plakias bay.

Rock climbing in skirts is cool.

Now it's stephs turn.

Walking through an olive orchard.

We stumble upon a secret hotel.

Another view of the secret hotel.

A secluded (nudist) beach.

At the Knossos Palace; me being Minoan.

Steph being Minoan.

Minoan bull.

My name in the sand.

Steph's name in the sand.

A dog in Xania.

Plants in Xania.

A yellow submarine in Xania?!?

Electrotherapy in Xania?!?!?!

MYKONOS:

Colorful boats in the bay.

The bay by the main port.

Country side.

Doorway.

Ducks.

Ducks again.

They were the only two on Mykonos, because mostly there were . . .

Pelicans!

Waiting for food . . .

forming a line . . .

and waiting . . .

Jesus, how long is this going to take???

Also lots of flowers . . .

and more flowers . . .

and still more.

Pretty menu.

The old part of town.

Pretty door.

Pretty church.

Pretty Steph.

Pretty small street.

Pillows + sand = ???

More pillows. . . notice no one is on them.

Steph, Katherine and I at Paradise Beach.

If you have pillows on the beach, you must have a bed by the pool.

Lots of these too.

Mreow.

BEAUTIFUL . . .

PICTURES.

Goodbye!

PAROS:

I'm back! (This is where I had a summer school course four years ago!)

Doorway to sea.

Where is my Corona?

The harbor in Naussa.

Homes on the water.

Restaurants on the water.

Bars on the water.

Boats on the water.

Yes, we are on an island.

Walking around town.

Lots of cats on this island too.

AWWW! Kitty.

But they're so darn CUTE!

AWW!

But they're just scary here. It's like some secret society we stumbled upon.

Dinner.

SANTORINI:

sant volcanoe.JPG

View of the caldera.

Another view of the caldera.

The volcano in the center.

View from a far.

A ferry leaving.

From a top the island.

MORE BEAUTIFUL . . .

PICTURES.

Still more kitties.

Can I live here?!?

Or maybe here??

Flowers.

View of the cliff.

Another view of the cliff.

A cliff-top cafe.

Eating a wonderful banana split from . . .

a cliff-top cafe.

Katherine, myself, and Steph.

Nick, Stephanie, and Katherine.

The black sand beach- Kamari. (I think)

Something fishy was going on in Greece while we were there. One of the many planes that kept flying over the islands.

Bus trip to Oia.

Beautiful view from the bus to Oia.

Ominous sky.

Sunset dinner on Oia. Great food, great company, great times!

Dogs at play.

Dogs on the roof.

Dogs are our friends.

But this was such a cute one!

Yup, still cute.

Sterotypical Greece.

More donkeys.

Donkeys walking up the cliff's edge.

Flowers at sunset.

Looking down on the port.

From another angle.

Yet another angle.

People boarding a ferry.

The view of Santorini at night.

Night view of the caldera.

What the previous picture would look like if you were on drugs.

Pools at night along the caldera.

The path down the side of the caldera.

The longest Greek word ever.

Santorini Mou!

Dinner. Again. Actually, I never ate an octopus, but I did eat plenty of Calamari.

FUN:

Poker on the beach at Paradise Beach.

Katherine and Steph at a cafe on Mykonos.

Nick and Katherine jamming in a club.

Katherine, steph and I out on the town.

This calls for the robot.

Scuba Steve and Doinky Doinky!

I will give you a dollar if you guess how many Alexes are in this picture. (At Scandanavian bar in Mykonos.)

Who's that hottie on the beach?!

"Does this make me look Greek?"

I'm telling you, the mullets are taking over the world!

NOOOOOO!!!!

View from above.

And on the 37th day, Koukla Madre created Koukla Mou, who descended from the skies borne by the magnificent Koukla Murray, an ill-tempered but loyal pelican. Earlier this month, Koukla Murray tricked his rider by flying her to Washington DC, where she became mortal, a surefire side-effect of beginning graduate school. Among other notable experts commenting on the situation, Noam Koukly said, "Murray shocked the entrenched right-wing power by delivering this firebrand directly into the heart of the political maelstrom."

Okay, apparently a timeout error still posts your comment. Wave your hand, Koukla, chant the magic words, and remove the redundant (if not brilliant and groundbreaking) comment.

I only hope I can live up to the fable . . .
